  • Welcome to SQDOG (Squirrel Dog Central)

Squirrel dog training is not an easy task. We are the hub for information on squirrel dogs. Squirrel dogs can be of many different breeds or bloodlines. The most popular are Cur or Feist. Each breed, strain or bloodline has its own traits and qualities.

Choosing a squirrel dog is not an easy task. Every squirrel hunter has a different idea of what the perfect squirrel dog is. For instance: When squirrel hunting some like a hard tree dog some don't. Well, we have squirrel dog breeders from many different states that frequent this site. These breeders can help you in making the right decision about the type of squirrel dog that may suit you. We have users that train squirrel dogs for a living, that just got their first puppy or have had many World Champion Squirrel dogs come from their kennel active here.

    • 4 month old male NKC mountain feist pup , 500$.. Pikeville Kentucky (606)794-2678
    • This little female is well bred and belongs will tree a squirrel. She is one of the slowest dogs I've seen hunt and seems to be nearly all nose. Buddy and I killed several out to her when we took her hunting this year. She isn't much for road hunting as she does hunt slow. Guy we got her from did breed her a time or two and said she threw really good pups. She just doesn't fit into our hunting program as we do mostly road hunt. Gonna let her go for a puppy price $500. If interested you can contact me on here, Facebook, or call or text me at (276)345-7136 or you can contact my hunting partner Chester Collins at (276)275-2191
    • Most times when people cross a Stephens they dock the tails. Long tail is breed standard for a Stephens, so if they mix , they dock so there’s no confusion down the line. I mite be interested in a pup, I need a meat dog pup.
    • It is a lot of fun to make a 1st time "TRUE HALF OUT CROSS!" You never know what the pups out of a cross like that will look like in color and markings. And you will never know what "GENETIC TRAITS" each pup will get out of a cross like that until you start and train them. I have enjoyed breeding, raising, starting, and training pups out of different type of crosses for a pretty long time now. Each cross reproduces different "GENETIC TRAITS" that is amazing to see naturally come out in their pups when you start them at a young age. Good luck with your cross and I hope you enjoy starting and training the pups you keep to hunt out of it. I agree with you, I think a Cur/Treeing Cur looks best with a docked tail!!! Take care and thanks for sharing. Jerry
